Rolling Oils
Rolling Oils are Specialty lubricants designed and developed both at Blachford’s in-house and / or at our licensor Quaker Chemical’s laboratories for the cold reduction of steel sheet sold to the container, automotive, and appliance industries. They can contain full synthetics, semi-synthetics, and fully natural products with lubricant delivery systems that include nonionic, anionic, cationic, amphoteric and polymeric technologies. Rolling Oils are used to effectively reduce a multitude of steel alloys to the gauge and shape required.
Our line of Rolling Oils are Specialty lubricants designed to handle the extreme light gauges during tin cold rolling while maintaining the high cleanliness standards needed for further downstream processes. These products contain a range of base industrial lubricants that include synthetic and natural esters and a variety of delivery systems depending on the specific system requirements.
To circumvent problems arising from the contamination of the rolling oil, we also provide compatible pickle oils and hydraulic fluids. Our pickle oils are applied to steel to prevent gouging or scratching and to provide lubrication during cold rolling. They also aid in protecting surfaces during storage.
These products are sold under the Quaker Chemical registered trademarks Qwerl®, Quakerol®, and Tinnol®.
